What are high back sofas?

High back sofas have a taller backrest that supports your head and neck as well as your lower back, so you can rest back fully. Every sofa in this range shares that high-back design and is upholstered in fabric.

What does "high back" actually mean?

It means the backrest is tall enough to support your head and neck, not just your lower and mid back. It's designed for a more relaxed, enveloping sit, especially over longer sessions.

Who are high back sofas best for?

Anyone who wants head and neck support while seated — particularly taller people, whose shoulders often sit above a standard backrest, and anyone who relaxes on the sofa for long stretches.

What configurations are available?

Armchairs, 2, 3 and 4 seaters, corner and U-shape sofas (some with a footstool), sofa sets (2+1 up to 3+2+1) and sofa beds. Check each product page for exact sizes.

What colours and fabrics are available?

All are fabric, in colours including grey, black, cream, silver, coal and truffle across the Verona, Carnaby, Bishop and Canterbury ranges; Bishop models use a hard-wearing Alaska fabric. Check the product page for the exact fabric.

Are there high back corner and U-shape sofas?

Yes — the range includes high-back corner sofas and U-shape corner sofas, some supplied with a matching footstool. Check the product page for the footprint and corner orientation.

Are there high back sofa beds?

Yes — the range includes Verona high-back corner sofa beds and 3 seater sofa beds, giving head-and-neck support day to day and a bed for guests. The conversion and bed size vary by model.

What's the difference between a high back and a standard back sofa?

A standard back supports you up to around the shoulders; a high back continues up to support the head and neck, so you can rest back fully. High backs feel more enveloping and suit longer sitting sessions.

What size room do I need?

Measure the wall space and leave room to move around the sofa; also check the backrest height against anything behind it, as high backs are taller. For corners and U-shapes, note the footprint. Check the product page for dimensions.

Are high back fabric sofas good for families and pets?

Yes. Grey and darker shades like black and coal hide everyday marks better than cream or silver. As with any fabric sofa, keep to a regular cleaning routine and deal with spills promptly.

How do I clean a fabric high back sofa?

Vacuum regularly with an upholstery attachment, especially the head and neck area, and blot spills with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing. Avoid harsh chemicals and test any product on a hidden area first.

How durable are high back fabric sofas?

Durability depends on the construction and fabric of the specific model and on regular, appropriate care. For full construction details and any current guarantee terms, check the product page or ask our team.

Is finance available on high back sofas?

Yes. We offer PayPal Pay in 3, Klarna Pay in 3 or Pay in 30 (both interest-free), Clearpay in 4 interest-free fortnightly payments, and DivideBuy for longer-term finance plans, subject to credit check.

How long does delivery take?

All the sofas in this range are in stock, and the product listings show delivery within 7 days. Standard delivery is free of charge to England and Wales.

What happens if my sofa arrives damaged?

If anything arrives damaged, contact our team on 02476 705 600 as soon as possible with photos and your order details, and we'll arrange the next steps for you.

Do I need to assemble it?

There's very little to do. Our two-person team brings the sofa into your ground-floor room and fits any feet or sections on arrival, access permitting. Larger sofas and corners arrive in sections.

What is your returns policy?

We offer a 14-day change of mind returns policy on high back sofas, so you can order with confidence. Contact our team to arrange a return within the window.

Do they come with a warranty?

For the current guarantee terms on any high back sofa, please check the individual product page or speak to our team on 02476 705 600, who can confirm what applies to your order.
