Genuine leather, Leather Aire, faux or bonded — what's the difference?

They're genuinely different materials, so here's a quick guide. Genuine leather is the real thing — a natural hide, premium and characterful, cared for by wiping and occasional conditioning. Leather Aire is our own leather-look material with the easiest care of the group — a simple wipe with a damp cloth — giving you the leather look without the upkeep of a hide; it's not genuine, and we never call it faux. Faux leather is a separate man-made leather-look material, again wipe-clean but with its own characteristics. As a general guide: genuine leather is wiped clean and occasionally conditioned; Leather Aire, faux leather and bonded leather all wipe down with a soft, damp cloth; and fabric is vacuumed and spot-cleaned.
