Canterbury Truffle Fabric Sofa

What's in This Collection?

This collection is the full Canterbury range in a single truffle colourway. It runs from a single armchair, through 2 and 3 seater sofas, to matching sets in 2+1, 3+1, 2+2, 3+2, 3+3, 2+1+1, 3+1+1 and 3+2+1, plus a high-back corner sofa. Because every piece is the same range, colour and fabric, they're all designed to sit together — so you can start with one sofa now and add a matching armchair or second sofa later, confident it will coordinate.

That makes the main decision simply which configuration suits your room and how many seats you need. The whole range is currently in stock. If you'd like to see other options, browse all fabric sofas, corner sofas or sofa sets.

About the Canterbury Range

The Canterbury is a comfortable, everyday upholstered range with a classic, family-friendly look. In this truffle colourway it has a warm, understated tone that suits most living rooms. As a single coordinated range it takes the guesswork out of matching — the armchair, sofas, corner and sets all share the same design and fabric, so a room built entirely from Canterbury Truffle pieces has a consistent, considered feel. Exact design details, dimensions and fabric specification are shown on each product page.

Buying within one range has practical advantages beyond the matching look. You can spread the purchase over time — start with a sofa now and add the armchair or a second sofa when it suits your budget — without worrying that the colour or design will have moved on, provided the piece you want is still in stock. It also makes planning a room simpler: rather than trying to pair items from different ranges that may differ subtly in tone, height or seat depth, everything in Canterbury Truffle is built to sit together from the outset.

What Colour Is Truffle?

Truffle is a warm mid-brown taupe — softer and lighter than a chocolate brown, with a greige, earthy quality. It's a practical, versatile shade: warm enough to feel cosy, neutral enough to work with a wide range of schemes, and more forgiving of everyday marks than pale creams or greys. It pairs naturally with cream and off-white, sage and olive greens, warm metals and natural wood. Because screen colours can differ slightly from the real fabric, we'd suggest a showroom visit or a sample if the exact tone matters for your room.

Truffle also earns its place as a practical everyday choice. Being a warm mid-tone rather than a pale shade, it doesn't show dust, everyday marks and general wear as readily as cream or light grey, which makes it a sensible option for a family living room or a busy household. At the same time it feels warmer and cosier than a cool grey, so it suits rooms where you want an inviting rather than a minimalist feel. It works as either the star of a neutral scheme or a grounding base that you dress up with cushions and throws in bolder tones.

Configurations: Chair, Sofas, Corner and Sets

The range covers a single armchair, single 2 and 3 seater sofas, a high-back corner sofa, and matching multi-piece sets. The set notation shows how the seats split across pieces — a 3+2 is a 3 seater plus a 2 seater, and a three-part set such as 3+2+1 adds an armchair. Here's how the options compare.

Exact dimensions vary by piece and aren't assumed here, so check the width, depth and height on the product page for your chosen configuration, and measure your room and the route in. See the wider 3 seater sofas and 2 seater sofas ranges for more sizes.

The High-Back Corner Sofa

The Canterbury Truffle also comes as a high-back corner sofa — an L-shaped design that tucks seating into a corner and makes the most of the floor space, with a higher back that gives more support up to head and neck height, which taller sitters often prefer. A corner works well as the main seating in a family living room or an open-plan space. Corner sofas can be left-hand or right-hand depending on which way the longer run faces, and may arrive in sections, so check the orientation and dimensions on the product page and measure both walls it will run along before ordering.

Choosing for Your Room

For a smaller room, the armchair with a 2 seater, or a 2+1 set, keeps things in proportion. For a family living room, a 3 seater, a 3+2 or the corner sofa is the classic choice. If you host often or have a larger space, the bigger sets such as 3+2+1 or 3+3 give the most matching seating. Because it's all one range, a good approach is to choose your main sofa first, then add a matching armchair or second piece if you need more seats — everything will coordinate. Whatever you choose, measure the space and the access route before ordering.

Fabric Care

Always follow the product-specific care instructions on the product page or supplied with your order. As a general routine for the truffle fabric, blot spills promptly with a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth rather than rubbing, and vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment to lift dust and keep the surface even. Avoid harsh cleaners and abrasive tools, and keep the sofa out of prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade colour over time, and away from excessive heat such as radiators. Plump the cushions regularly to keep their shape. Check the product page for any fabric-specific advice.

Stock, Delivery and Finance

Availability is shown live on each product, and at the time of writing the whole range is in stock — so you can order any configuration, or build a matching set piece by piece, without waiting for a restock. A few sets show low stock (a couple show only two or three left), so it's worth ordering promptly on those. Delivery is free to England and Wales by a two-person team, and delivery times can vary by product, so take the timeframe from the live product card rather than assuming one date. You can spread the cost with interest-free finance, subject to credit check — see the finance information page. If you change your mind, our 14-day returns policy applies; details are on the returns information and delivery information pages.
